Química Winery supports artists.

Our plan is to offer an annual fellowship to a new artist each year to create art we can use on our labels and in our other marketing materials. We will pay the artists and promote their work in our marketing.

Joi Smith, Inaugural Fellow, 2026-2027

Joi Smith is a self taught conceptual mixed media artist based in Las Vegas. She is known for her innovative mixed media collage work exploring themes of feminism, cultural identity, gender identity, and sexuality.

Drawing inspiration from the city that formed her, the ‘hidden magazines of the 70s’, the biker culture she was raised in, the 20 years spent in the Pacific Northwest, and her complete inability to grow flowers… Joi enjoys using controversial images to portray longing, love, empowerment, and sometimes even whimsy employing several Vegas inspired unconventional mediums such as rhinestones, gold, and resin.

Joi Smith has been a working artist for the past ten years and has shown in galleries and museums along the west coast. Currently she is featured in The Forbidden Gallery inside The Erotic Heritage Museum as well as having work in Meow Wolf's Area 15, the Kala Gallery in Astoria, OR, and downtown Las Vegas’ container park.
