Summer’s End Syrah, 2023
This fruity red wine tastes like the last day of summer. Snuggling in a sleeping bag. Campfire coffee and bacon. Picking the last handful of the ripest blackberries. Jumping into the river just one more time. Playing hide-and-seek in the woods. Writing wishes on paper and tossing them into the bonfire. S’mores. Sunsets. Cool nights. Stars in the sky. A last kiss.
Blackberries. Cherries. Raspberries. Black pepper. Cocoa. Coffee. Vanilla. Nutmeg. Smoke.
How to Drink This Wine
This wine needs time to breathe. It is on the higher end of alcohol at 14% ABV, so without time to breathe, the alcohol masks many of the wine’s pleasant aromas. When you give it some time to breathe before the first sip, you will see that it takes you on a journey throughout the glass. This wine can be served lightly chilled, but you will need to let it take time to get cozy before it unveils all the aromas it has to offer.
Magic Pairings

Giving
We knew that one of the first charities we wanted to support was one whose work dealt with forest wildfires in the Pacific Northwest. One of our first experiences as new winemakers was smoke taint in our Syrah, caused by smoke from wildfires. We chose Sustainable Northwest, which works in partnership with rural and tribal communities to develop locally led solutions to advance forest health and resilience. Their work helps prevent forest fires, lessen the negative impacts of forest fires, and restore forests after fires. Ten percent of sales ($2.50) from this bottle goes to Sustainable Northwest.
